How to read the comparison

  • Clay tiles: the traditional Piedmont roof, beautiful and durable, but heavy and slow to lay. In historic centres it is often mandatory.
  • Ardogres tiles: slate-look porcelain stoneware. It does not absorb water, is frost-proof, weighs less than clay tiles and is quicker to lay. For modern roofs and cold areas.
  • Corrugated sheet metal: very light and very fast, the choice for industrial buildings, canopies and for replacing asbestos cement; with sandwich panels it is also insulated.

How long the job takes and what happens day by day is in our guide Re-roofing; if the roof still has asbestos cement, here is the removal procedure.
